I love the way you never let people drag you down;
I love the way you laugh, a silly, down-right clown.

I love the way you promised that I'd somehow be alright,
I love the way your words come back to me each passing night.
I love the way you've gone away to faithfully serve the Lord;
I love the way I love you: always, ever, more.

Seeing You

Hopes and fears, wants and dreams tangled in a blur.
Searing veins, happy smile, twirling train of thought.
Unmistaking blue-green eyes; sweet, steady lure.
Peaceful, loving pleasure not to be forgot.
In pulsing, rushing floods, memory returns.
Fleeting precious moments; the blood within me burns.
Reaching out, I place your tender hands in mine;
Feelings when I see you are hard to define.

  Sonnet 1
As the leaves of fall descend upon me

A new love blooms like the blossoms of spring.

Could it, was it meant for this love to be?

My heart has mended like an old bird’s wing.

My once broken heart is once again whole.

I look into his eyes in puzzlement,

His azure eyes a window to his soul.

Could he love me too, this angel heav’n sent?

Trembling, I hope, begging the stars to know.

Our love is not seen or heard, only felt;

Springing up from the ground where love does sow.

His eyes drift away, and then my heart melts.

What can be, what may be, cannot be told,

I will always love his heart pure as gold.

Sonnet 2
Love falls from the blue sky like drops of rain,

Building up and forming pools of delight;

Sliding down faces, washing away pain,

What else could make so many eyes shine bright?

Your Love fills the gaps of my heart and soul,

Adding to my own joy in many ways.

Like water filling up all of my holes.

With you here, can I ever meet sad days?

Difficult and harsh times will always come,

But where there is love, there is always hope.

You’ve made life worth it, no matter what sum.

As one, we can do anything and cope.

We’ll stick together, let this whole world see,

How beautiful real love can truly be.

As water trickles from the aqua sky,

I silently ponder over my life…

And how much I care, oh can’t you see why?

Your bright smile, like the sun helps me through strife.

but you helped show me the world’s vivid glow.

With you will I feel the bitter, cold snow?

I know that together we’ll move mountains,

Our fates like a vine have become entwined.

It is impossible to explain,

Love isn't a strong enough name.
Overpowering, joyful feeling,
Vats of happiness overstreaming.
Every moment is pure bliss,

You alone I want to kiss.
Orange, green, yellow, blue,
Undeniably all I want is you.

The Night
Tonight the happy wait
is quickly passing like a stream
and the glitter gathers everywhere
resting softly like moon’s gleam.
Oh, do you remember?
The tinkling song still lingers,
its sound dancing like the wind.
The smooth voice of Song,
And how her deep tone
Moved everyone to dance.
Us, dancing,
Laughing boisterously like children at our lack of skill
or apologizing as we tripped,
Girls glaring in unison
As we brushed their shining diamond dresses.
You held my hand
and were unafraid,
despite the sullen surprise of whispering friends.
Oh see the vibrant purple dress
that cascaded softly like the rain,
and the way it flashed, luminescent
like a brilliant lion's mane
while happiness happiness
Happiness that I had never known engulfed my mind.
This was where the sound began;
with its profound ring
Opening my broken heart like a key.
And then the key disappeared
into the black,
forever flying out of reach.
I remember the color of music,
and how you
and all of your goodness
were part of me for a breathless moment.

Ode to Friendly Eyes
Those eyes that are so bright, they shine,
Such a loving and caring sign.
Those eyes belong to my best friend,
How could his friendship ever end?
His eyes are like an open book,
I understand with just one look;
Filled with deep shades of green and blue,
Always happy, like very few.
Seeing those eyes makes my whole day,
My cares are simply washed away.
